Fredericksburg Songwriters' Showcase Karen Collins

Karen Collins, a coal miner's daughter from southwest Virginia, grew up listening to country music She is currently fiddler and vocalist with the award winning Cajun band, Squeeze Bayou and also plays and sings in the popular acoustic country quartet, The Blue Moon Cowgirls.

She has been involved in traditional music for many years, playing and singing in bluegrass, old-time Appalachian, and early country music groups. Karen's singing has been praised in the Washington Post, In Tune Magazine, Blue Suede News and other publications.

 

With Backroads & Bayous, her first solo CD, Karen has created an exciting recording of her two musical passions, early country and Louisiana Cajun music.
