Chamber-pop sextet Ra Ra Riot play exuberantly melancholic music and irresistible songs like &#8220;Dying is Fine&#8221; (with lines borrowed from an e.e. cummings poem) signal that its big break is imminent. Noise-pop shoegazers A Place to Bury Strangers are another riot, drawing equal inspiration from My Bloody Valentine and former tour mates Brian Jonestown Massacre.
