presentation using social media in education
-
“To date, we witness the mass adoption of social networks. Roughly every 10th citizen of this planet uses these services to communicate with others. For the satisfaction of human need like socialization and self-esteem, users visit these services – very often more than daily. In communication, regardless of online or offline, people put their privacies at risk for some benefit.’

Initial Friday’s highlights included Radio Moscow’s scorching six-strings and Atlas Sound’s muted musings but those were just a prelude to two of my favorites. The Crystal Stilts and A Place To Bury Strangers were both in top form; the former furnished a hazy psych-pop soundscape on the main stage before a distorted, feedback drenched aural assault by the latter A Place To Bury Strangers blew away all in attendance.

Three Interviews with Oliver, April 2011

I’ve always used anything that I can make and get my hands on. It is always an experiment, and that is what keeps things interesting. Being able to create my own effects really adds to the experience. Death By Audio builds some of the sounds I wanted to achieve, but couldn’t with anything I could get my hands on. We also build custom effects for bands which I think share some of this aesthetic, like Nine Inch Nails, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, and more.

I’ve never made it a secret. A Place to Bury Strangers is my favorite modern era band, which is evident due to all of the writing and photographs I’ve posted on the Dregs.
Using Google Docs for Grading
-
“Enter Google Documents, one of our favorite cloud-based tools. I’ve been using it for some time now as a way for students to submit their work. But it wasn’t until I read Andrew Cullison’s “Grade Student Papers Using Google Forms†that I tried using Google Documents for grading.”
