An agglomeration of links for 2010-01-31

fruit bowlVisited bloglines and some blogs today and I came up with a few interesting links. The first is a link to the way Eun-Ha’s video Now and Then is referenced in a course dealing with Flash animation. The second is to a search feature at Harper’s Index, and the third is to the 2010 Edge Question, “How is the Internet Changing the  Way You Think?”

Touch typing tutorials

Videos about computer hardware

Oliver at Coachella We always spend about one class period in CPSC 110 discussing basic computer hardware, and I often have the students look at the video from How Stuff Works. It and few others are listed below. In addition to having students look at the videos I also brought in a couple of computers they could take apart and get their hands on. This activity is also mentioned at http://ernie.umwblogs.org/2010/01/24/cpsc-110-january-21-2010/

Two interesting lists – Laze & Zorba

APtBS suitcaseI came across two interesting lists recently. The first is Laze’s playlist on last.fm and the second is an equally excellent lsit – Zorba’s Guide to free eBooks. Both promise hours of enjoyment.
